Buddhism

There are many religions, but I am going to tell you about Buddhism. The religion Buddhism was founded by Buddha. Buddha's real name is Siddarth Gautama. The picture is a statue of him. Buddhism was founded around 563 BCE. The religion is world wide and 300 million people practice it. Buddhism has sacred texts called sutras and the Dhamma. Buddhists celebrate Buddha day. Buddha day is celebrated for the passing of Buddha. Buddha day is also known as Vesak Day. Vesak day always falls on the first full moon of May. To celebrate Vesak day the Buddhas pour water over statues of the Buddha. Just before Buddha died, he saw his faithful attendant Ananda, weeping. The Buddha advised him not to weep, but to understand the universal law that all compounded things (including even his own body) must disintegrate. (Below Buddhist monks during a Vesak day parade.) He advised everyone not to cry over the disintegration
of the physical body but to regard his teachings (The Dhamma) as their teacher from then on, because only the Dhamma truth is eternal and not subject to the law of change. He also stressed that the way to pay homage to him was not merely by offering flowers, incense, and lights, but by truly and sincerely striving to follow his teachings. This is how devotees are expected to celebrate Vesak: to use the opportunity to reiterate their determination to lead noble lives, to develop their minds, to practice loving-kindness and to bring peace and harmony to humanity. The Buddha religion practices fasting, the exchanging of gifts, and striving for peace. Like other religions, Buddhism believes in after life and reincarnation. Buddhist's typical wardrobe is an orange robe or tan cloaks, and they are bald. Some important people to the religion are the Dahlia Lama, Puncheon Lama, General Monastics, and the lay people. This is all you are going to learn about Buddhism from me. Thank you for reading my blog, hope you have enjoyed it and learned what it is that you needed to.

Why does there have to be so many sports at the same time?

This is the time of year that I get mad. My three favorite sports are on TV at the same time, and I can't watch two thing at the same time. Baseball, football, and hockey are my favorite sports and I usually have to choose between them to see what I am going to watch. This year it is now really only between two sports though. Since the Chicago Cubs, my favorite baseball team is out of the playoffs, it is between football and hockey. So now it is between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Green Bay Packers, but thankfully they usually don't play at the same time. The Blackhawks usually play at night and the Packers will usually play during the day. They are still going to conflict though. If you have any ideas that will help me get to watch both, comment me please.

Who will win the Super Bowl this year?

I love sitting down on sundays to watch the games week after week. I love getting to see all of the big hits. I really love seeing the Green Bay Packers play though. I was talking with my dad the other day and I wanted to know who he thought was going to win the Super Bowl. He said he had no idea. Then he asked me who I thought was going to win, I wanted to say that it was going to be the Packers but deep down I knew that it wouldn't be them, so i just said that i didn't know either. Although i really don't care who wins it as long as it isn't the Minnesota Vikings or the Chicago Bears. I really hope that the Packers would win. I think that football teams wont have to worry about the Chicago Bears this season. I think that because without Brian Urlacher The Bears do not have a chance. Well at least I hope they don't.
GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
